Varsity Sports Report, March 2: Frank Grandinette leads Boone past Dr. Phillips
Frank Grandinette allowed two hits in seven innings and Derek Deler drove in the game-winning run in the fifth to lead Boone past host Dr. Phillips 2-1 in baseball on Friday night.
Grandinette struck out four for the Braves (6-2), ranked No. 4 in the Sentinel Super Six, who have now won six straight games since starting the season 0-2. Boone is now 2-0 in its district.
